The architectural firm is Sizemore Group. The contractor is Hogan Construction Group LLC. Construction is set to start January 2009 and completion of the library is projected for February 2010. The Scott Candler Library site is a 3.5 acre property adjacent to the South DeKalb Senior Center on Candler Road. It is proposed that this project will be constructed as part of a mixed use development at the Northwest corner of the Candler Road and Melville Avenue intersection. The development is intended to incorporate the library, a new Senior Center, Senior housing and retail.
