About the Library Foundation

Help a good Library grow into a great Library!

The mission of the DeKalb Library Foundation is to provide support for DeKalb County Public Library beyond public funding and to enrich the lives of DeKalb County citizens through educational, cultural and literary programs and services. Here are ways you can help fulfill this mission and support your Library.

This past year the DeKalb County Public Library welcomed 4.5 million patrons who visited twenty two library branches or used the library website. This community resource enriches the lives of citizens by providing lifelong learning, community spaces and computer access.

This library is an excellent community resource, returning $7 to the citizens for every $1 spent by the county. DeKalb County tax dollars provide valuable library information services, but resources are needed beyond public funding.

Established in 1998, the DeKalb Library Foundation supports library initiatives and enhances library services through private contributions. The Foundation values a literate community with open access to information and knowledge made stronger by a great public library.

Your contribution helps the DeKalb Library Foundation support children’s programs, family literacy programs, literary programs and the book and materials collection at the DeKalb County Public Library.
