Skillshare Programs at the Library Print E-mail

This spring at DeKalb County Public Library, you can learn some exciting skills—the basics of Zumba, how to create collages, and how to select a campsite ...even how to learn some acting skills! What's exciting as well is that all these workshops are being presented free of charge by people from the community who want to share their special talents.

This initiative is called Skillshare. It gives people from the community the opportunity to share their special knowledge and skills related to hobbies or arts and crafts with others through library-hosted workshops.

"This is a wonderful program." says Adult Services Committee member Myguail Chappel. "Everyone involved gets to meet new people who share their interests. Patrons get to learn something new, presenters get to teach their skills to neighbors and friends, and the Library is able to expand the variety of meaningful programs we offer the community."

To find out more about the Skillshare programs, visit the Skillshare program schedule in our online events calendar or ask for a schedule of workshops at your local branch.
