|Skillshare Programs Begin at the Library in January|
This winter and spring at DeKalb County Public Library, you can learn some exciting skills—how to make hand-crafted greeting cards, the basics of Zumba, how to plan a successful road trip...even how to juggle! What's exciting as well is that all these workshops are being presented free of charge by people from the community who want to share their special talents.
This initiative is called Skillshare. It gives people from the community the opportunity to share their special knowledge and skills related to hobbies or arts and crafts with others through library-hosted workshops.
"This is a wonderful program." says Adult Services Committee member Myguail Chappel. "Everyone involved gets to meet new people who share their interests. Patrons get to learn something new, presenters get to teach their skills to neighbors and friends, and the Library is able to expand the variety of meaningful programs we offer the community."
