The Library subscribes to over 400 different magazines, journals and newspapers in print. Thousands of additional journals, magazines and newspapers are available online through GALILEO and the Library's reference databases. Most back issues of magazines can be checked out, except for those housed at the Decatur Library. Decatur maintains extensive back files of periodicals available on microfilm. Equipment to read and print from microfilm is available in Decatur's reference area on the second floor.

  Photos and maps, with an emphasis on world news and events. Other images include contemporary and historical photos of people, places and natural science.
• MasterFILE Premier at EBSCOhost
  Complete articles from magazines and journals covering nearly all subjects including general reference, business, consumer health, general science, and multicultural issues. Also includes abstracts and citations to articles from additional journals, the complete text of World Almanac & Book of Facts, an image collection of maps and flags, plus other documents.
• Research Library at ProQuest
  Includes complete articles as well as citations and abstracts for articles from scholarly journals and general magazines. The Research Library may be searched individually or in conjunction with other ProQuest resources.

Newspapers

• Obituaries and Death Notices
  Collection of newspaper obituaries and death notices from around the United States useful for genealogical research and for information on famous persons.
• Newspaper Source
  Information from the daily feeds of Knight-Ridder/Tribune Business News and Knight-Ridder/Tribune News Service Newspaper Source as well as full coverage of The Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Times (London), and The Toronto Star. Also includes selected articles from (U.S.) newspapers, including The Macon Telegraph, Savannah Morning News, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The Detroit Free Press, and The Miami Herald.
• ProQuest Newspapers
  Access to: the Christian Science Monitor (1988-), Los Angeles Times (1985-), New York Times; Late Edition, East Coast (1980-), Wall Street Journal; Eastern Edition (1984-) and The Washington Post (1987-).  Coverage includes full-text articles but not advertisements, illustrations, or photographs. Also includes other newspapers.
