Acclaimed filmmaker and writer Haile Gerima screens his latest award-winning film Teza a drama which chronicles the return of an African intellectual to his birth country of Ethiopia during a repressive Marxist regime. Mr. Gerima's previous films include Ashes and Embers (1982) and Sankofa (1993). This is the inaugural program of DeKalb County Public Library's new African Films and Filmmakers Series. It begins with a reception for  the filmmaker at 4:00 p.m. The film will be screened at 5:00 p.m. and followed with a question and answer session with Mr. Gerima. Copies of his films will be available for purchase. Sponsored by the DeKalb Library Foundation.
