The DeKalb Library Foundation achieved a major milestone this winter, increasing its endowment to fund literacy programs at DeKalb County Public Library by $250,000. Through generous donations from many individuals, corporations, civic associations and foundations, the DeKalb Library Foundation raised $125,000 before Dec. 31, 2009. As a result, the Foundation received a matching $125,000 grant from the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation. Fitzgerald Foundation Chairman Lin Stradley and Executive Director Jackie Stradley presented the matching grant check to the Library Foundation at a reception February 19 at the Decatur Library. |
